IEQ-5: Thermal Comfort
Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining this credit
by facilitating Naturally Ventilated and Mechanically Assisted
Naturally Ventilated Spaces, Mechanically Air-Conditioned Spaces
and Mixed-Mode Ventilated Spaces in providing individual thermal
comfort, in accordance with the prescribed requirements.
The first point addresses the thermal comfort levels on the
industrial space, through the acceptability limits index.
The second point addresses the thermal comfort of the occupied
space using either the acceptability limits index, or the PMV
scale.
The third point addresses the individual comfort control
requirements in the Occupied Space.
This point is additional to achieving either of the first two.
The guidance has been clarified with regards to occupancy. It
rewards the inclusion of controls at set intervals (where the final
fitout design is unknown), or per workstation (where known).
The second and third points are applicable where the
non-industrial occupied space is more than 2.5% of the nominated
area of the GLA up to 500m2, and where there is a
non-industrial occupied space.
