Mat-4 Note 1: Concrete
Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits as it
helps facilitate the reduction of embodied energy and resources
depletion through use of concrete. Credit points are awarded for
the percentage reduction of Portland cement through substitution of
industrial waste products or aggregates.
An additional point is awarded where the above is achieved and
20% of aggregate used for structural purposes is recycled and no
natural aggregates are used in non-structural uses in accordance
with prescribed requirements. If new concrete represents less than
1% of projects contract value this credit is not applicable.
Product may contribute as an individual component, in
combination with other suitable components, contributing towards
above as recycled aggregates or eco-cement.
