Credit 2: Commissioning Clauses

To obtain these credit points the project must implement commissioning and handover initiatives to ensure that building services are operated to optimal design potential. Pre-commissioning, commissioning and quality monitoring are required for all building services (BMS, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic), and where the works outlined above are in accordance with CIBSE Commissioning Codes or AHSRAE Commissioning Guidelines 1-1996.

An additional point is awarded where the above is achieved and project knowledge is transferred to the building owner/manager through all of the following - documented design intent, as-built drawings, Operations and Maintenance Manual, Commissioning report and training of building management staff.

One credit is awarded where at least 30% of waste by waste is reused or recycled; two points where at least 50%  of waste by weight is reused or recycled; three points where at least 70% of waste by weight is reused or recycled.

Credit 6: Users' Guide

To obtain these credit points the project must provide a Building Manager's Guide (BMG) to building managers and a Building User's Guide (BUG) to building users. A Communication Strategy outlining how the information in the BUG will be communication with building occupants. Both User Guides must address all of the areas  listed in the Compliance Requirements.

Credit 9: Daylight Glare Control

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining this credit as it contributes to the reduction of discomfort of glare from natural light. To achieve this credit, blinds or screens are fitted o all glazing and atriums to eliminate all direct sun penetration and have a visual transmittance (VLT) of less than 10% and are accessible by occupants, or fixed shading devices shade the working plane (700mm AFFL), 1.5m in from the centre of the glazing  from direct sun for 80% of standard working hours.

To achieve this credit, a system must facilitate continuous monitoring and control of outside air ventilation rates to at least 95% of the assessable areas and allows control of CO2 concentration to match the outside air rate claimed in IEQ-2.

An additional point is awarded where no uncoated zinc or copper materials for flashing, guttering, spouting, cladding and roofing is used and car parking areas achieve a minimum of one point for TRA-1.
