Bamboo is a sustainable, fast growing, rapidly renewable flooring alternative to timber sourced from old growth orPRODUCrain forests. Bamboo is a grass that can be harvested every 4-5 years (some species grow 18m in 90 days) in contrast to 40-60 years for hardwoods. Bamboo is believed to be an allergy free material. For Style Plantation bamboo flooring, only Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) are used due to its dense fibres.
Strandwoven bamboo flooring boards are high quality, high density solid bamboo. It is pre-finished in three coats of UV cured, non-toxic, water based urethane, thereby requiring no further coating or sanding and avoiding the mess and toxic VOCs normally associated with onsite sanding and polishing.
It is tongue and grooved on opposite sides with back-plough rebating to the rear face and chamfering on all four corners maximising the potential for a stable, flat and even surface without splintering. Strandwoven bamboo flooring uses a low VOC adhesive and has very low manufacturing waste and pollution emissions.
