Concrete based oil and sediment separator for wastewater and
storm water applications.
Typical applications of the Downstream Defender include streets
and roadways, car parks, industrial sites, service stations,
shopping centres and mine sites.
The separator is based on a hydrodynamic vortex (gravity)
process which removes sediments and oils from storm water runoff.
It removes fine particles (less than 100 micron) from relatively
high treatment flow rates.
The isolated storage zones within the unit prevent
remobilization of captured pollutants ensuring that the performance
of the unit remains the same regardless of whether the unit is
empty or approaching its storage capacity.
The defender has a small footprint and no moving part. It is a
precast unit which is easy to install or retrofit and is low
maintenance. The product is sold in Australia under licence from
Hydro International, a UK and USA based company.
