Straw-Stoggs provide erosion
control on slopes, and preliminary sediment capture in drainage
lines and swales.
Straw-Stoggs are an hessian sock,
stuffed with straw. They help to control the movement of soil
on erodable slopes by slowing and filtering silt-laden water. They
reduce sediment and gross pollutants from being washed into
watercourses and drains.
Straw-Stoggs are lightweight and
biodegradable. Use of erosion prevention helps to
re-establish vegetation, contributing to biodiversity.
Because Straw-Stoggs are manufactured from hessian and
straw, which is an agricultural by-product, they are a low toxic,
energy efficient option when compared to other erosion prevention
barriers that are synthetic based.
