Self contained greywater sewage treatment

A self-contained, safe and EPA-approved system for the on-site treatment of greywater (sullage). Usually in the form of two ten metre long trenches which are to be used alternately. The trenches are fed by perforated pipes from a distribution tank and consist of an impermeable base, a sand layer, a geotextile layer, a gravel layer and an organic soil cover, all of which facilitate the natural digestion of nutrients and pollutants by microbes and other soil animals such as worms. This soil fauna is very efficient in digesting the nutrients and pollutants in domestic wastewater to reduce the concentrations to negligible and often to undetectable levels.
