A pesticidal and physical termite protection system designed to prevent concealed termite entry into buildings. It is suitable for use in domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
TRITHOR Termite Protection consists of a geotextile fibre blanket, impregnated with a low level of deltamethrin, and then laminated top and bottom with a rugged plastic membrane. In this way, TRITHOR acts as both a physical and chemical system to prevent concealed termite entry.
TRITHOR™ consists of a geotextile blanket impregnated with deltamethrin. A unique Thermo-compression Technology™ process then locks the deltamethrin into the blanket before it is laminated top and bottom with a rugged plastic membrane. This complex entrapment process ensures that the deltamethrin remains trapped within the inner blanket. This means it is non-hazardous to anyone handling the product or who comes into contact with it.
The top membrane (200 microns) also serves as a moisture barrier; while the thinner bottom membrane prevents soil and grit from getting into the blanket's fibres and stops the pesticide from leaching into the environment.
TRITHOR Termite Protection is designed to provide termite protection for the life of the building. The product has been evaluated and registered by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA). (See also APVMA in Glossary). The product is also Codemark Accredited by the Australian Building Codes Board, and holds CSIRO performance testing reports.
Since being placed on the market, Ensytex has made improvements in order to reduce the thickness of the product. This current product is now 50% lighter and contains less low-density polyethylene (LDPE). By using less LDPE, this reduces impacts on the environment. It also reduces the environmental impacts of transporting the product from China and within Australia.
