PRODUCT SPECIFICATION

Direct Specification
The flooring shall be Tretford Roll Carpet, as distributed by The Gibbon Group of Australia, installed in accordance with manufacturer's written instructions to ensure provision of full product and installation warranty to Principal/Building Owner [strike where not applicable].

Performance Specification

Fit For Purpose:


The flooring shall be solution died Goat Hair, Nylon and Rayon faced carpet roll with PVC and Jute backing in 2 meter by 25 meter rolls in 7mm thickness.

 

The flooring shall be made from carded fibres formed into a continuous corrugation.

In respect of Flammability, the flooring shall have been fully tested to BS 4790:1987 as having a mean radius of burning of 25mm and Classed as Low.

 

In respect of Flammability, the flooring shall have been fully tested to BS EN ISO 11925:2002 and BS EN ISO 9239-1 as being Euroclass Cfl-s1.

 

In respect to Spread of Fire, the flooring shall have been fully tested to ANSI/ASTM E648 as having a Critical Radiant Flux result of Category 1.

 

In respect of Thermal Transmission, the flooring shall have been fully tested to BS 4745:1971 as having a thermal resistance of 1.76 togs, a thermal conductance of 5.58 W/m2 . degrees Celcius, and as having a thermal conductivity of 4.99 Wcm/m2.degrees Celcius.

 

In respect of Colour Fastness, the product shall have been fully tested to BS 1006:1990 as having a colour change to light result of 5-6 (very slight to none), a colour change to water spotting result of 4 (very slight), a colour change to carpet shampoo result of 3-4 (slight) and a colour change to rubbing result of 4 (very slight).

 

In respect of Mothproofing, the product shall comply with Australian Woolmark Levels 1-5.

 

 

Green Performance:


The flooring shall:

 

a) Be Global GreenTagCert™ LCARate Silver Certified achieving the GreenTagCert™ EcoPoint score of 0.64 or better.


OR

 

b)   Greenhouse Gas Impacts: Product shall demonstrate the public reporting of comprehensive product life cycle greenhouse gas footprint based on a per functional unit in accordance with ISO 14064:2006 and/or PAS 0250:2008 with the following performance.

It shall have a GreenTag SAC2 score of less than 0.95.

 

 

c)   Human Health (Toxicity): Product shall comply with Global GreenTag ESCAP and subject to a risk assessment not contain greater than 0.1% of any compound classified by the IARC as a Class 1, 2, 2A or 2B carcinogen, or classified by EU Directive 2001/59/EC as a Category 1, 2 or 3 Mutagen, or classified by EU Directive 2001/59/EC as a Category 1, 2, 3 or 4 Terratogen.

It shall have a GreenTag SAC3 score of less than 0.10.

 

 

d)   Ecospecifier LCA EcoPoints: Product shall have undergone the GreenTag LCARate Certification and achieved an ecospecifier LCA EcoPOINT score consisting of the weighted results of the Life Cycle Anlysis over the potential life of an eco-preferred building material, compared to a 'Business as Usual' or typical product used within the market, typically over a 60 year cycle of use in a building including maintenance, cleaning and replacement.

It shall have a GreenTag SAC4 score of less than 1.00

 

 

e)   Biodiversity - Physical Impacts: Product shall demonstrate public reporting of their physical biodiversity impacts associated with the raw material extraction and manufacturing of the product.

It shall have a GreenTag SAC5 score of less than 0.54

 

 

 

f)    Corporate Social Responsibility: Product shall demonstrate legal compliance to Australian social and environmental legislation, provide evidence of Compliant Supply Chain and Compliant Environmental Claims (according to ISO 14021).

It shall have a GreenTag SAC6 score of less than 0.50

 

AND

 

 

The flooring shall:

 

 

a)   Be certified as LEVEL A under a Green Building Council of Australia recognised third party certification system.

 

OR

 

b)   Greenhouse Gas Accounting: Product shall demonstrate the public reporting of comprehensive product life cycle greenhouse gas footprint based on a per functional unit basis in accordance with ISO 14064:2006 (Part 1: Specification with guidance at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals) or PAS 2050:2008 (BSI-Specification for the assessment of the life cycle greenhouse gas emissions of goods and services).

 

c)   Health and Ecotoxicity: Product shall comply with ecospecifier global ESCAP and subject to a risk assessment not contain greater than 0.1% of any compound classified by the IARC as a Class 1, 2, 2A or 2B carcinogen, or classified by EU Directive 2001/59/EC as a Category 1, 2 or 3 Mutagen, or classified by EU Directive 2001/59/EC as a Category 1, 2, 3 or 4 Terratogen.

 

d)   Water Use Accounting: Product shall demonstrate the public reporting of comprehensive product life cycle water footprint based on a per functional unit basis in accordance with ISO 14040:2006 (Environmental Management - Life Cycle Assessment - Principles and Frameworks) and ISO 14044:2006 (Environmental Management - Life Cycle Assessment - Requirements and Guidelines).

e)   Social and Environmental Requirements: Product shall demonstrate legal compliance to Australian social and environmental legislation and provide evidence of Compliant Supply Chain and Compliant Environmental Claims (according to ISO 14021).

 

f)    Durability: Product shall demonstrate compliance with all relevant Fit for Purpose requirements and provide replacement parts for the useful life of the product.

 

g)   End of Life: Product shall demonstrate design for disassembly capability of a minimum of 90% where supplier shall demonstrate appropriate design for disassembly strategies that ensure products are designed in a way that enable their easy separation into recyclable units to improve end of life recycling (where relevant). Supplier shall provide contractual arrangements with the customer to take products back at the end of the products in-use phase for some form of refurbishment, reuse, or recycling.

 

h)   VOC's: Product shall be compliant to VOC and TVOC levels in accordance with ASTM D5116 and complies as a minimum with the following TVOC emissions limits:

  1. Total VOC limit 0.5mg/m2/hour
  2. 4-PC (4-Phenylcyclohexene) 0.05mg/m2 per hour.

 

 

AND

 

The manufacturer of the flooring must also be in possession of valid:

 

a) Environmental management certificate, showing compliance with ISO 14001:2004.

 

 

AND

 

Adhesive must comply with low TVOC adhesive limits in accordance with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (California, US) - Rule 1168.
