Echolinear is a modular and demountable patented sound absorbing system for ceilings and walls. Designed to achieve the highest aesthetic and sound quality levels. This product is made from EO, 100% FSC pure board. Suitable for public halls, sports facilities, office, industrial, health, commercial, educational and residential environments.

A lead time of 10 – 12 weeks applies for other colours and profiles.


Echolinear is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship.  Any such defects must be reported within 10 days of date of delivery.  During this warranty period Elton Group will repair, or at their option, replace, free of charge such merchandise as shall prove to be defective.

Echolinear packs must be opened 48 hours before installation onsite, to allow material to stabilise itself to ambient conditions.

Echolinear must be installed in environments with:

  • A minimum temperature of 15°C
  • Humidity between 40-60%
  • Minimum 24 hours of conditioning prior to installation

The sound absorption properties of these panels decrease reverberation time and ambient noise within a space, plus also providing room to room sound attenuation and speech privacy.

Wood-based products are based on a renewable resource, have low embodied energy and sequester carbon. However, poorly managed forests can result in unsustainable yields, localised terrestrial, aquatic and social impacts, release of greenhouse gases, and significant losses of biodiversity. Various timber certification schemes are currently in operation relating to the sustainable and responsible management of forests as sources of wood. An ecospecifier analysis of various timber certification schemes reveals that the FSC Certification available with Echolinear is the most rigorous and robust certification.



Exposure to wood dust may increase risk of nasal cavity cancer. Precautions can be taken to decrease risk when handling the product, for instance ensuring all dust producing processes are fitted with local exhaust ventilation or on site use of PPE.

Emissions – Responsibly grown and managed forests sequester more CO2 than they emit during their growing phase. Wood products are carbon sinks, whereas most other products produce net carbon emission such as aluminium, plastic and steel, thereby reducing the toxic and pollutant impacts of wood on the terrestrial environment. Raw materials for MDF are sourced from responsibly managed FSC certified forests and suppliers.

Physical – As a raw material, FSC certified wood has reduced physical impact on the terrestrial environment. Associated forestry impacts to the terrestrial environment from forestry are loss of topsoil and reduced soil productivity due to nutrient loss.  The source of the feedstock material for viscose fibre, cellulose from wood pulp, is unknown, however the non-woven fabric represents a very small portion (less than 1%) of the product and physical impacts from possibly unmanaged forestry practices would be limited as a result of viscose use in the product.



Emissions –Aquatic pollution occurs from nutrient losses associated with deforestation.

Production of viscose fibres used in the acoustic fabric backing involves the use of zinc sulphate, which is toxic to aquatic organisms. However, given the small percentage (less than 1%) of viscose in the product, this impact is considered minimal.

Physical – The production of MDF involves the washing of wood chips. It is therefore possible that the Chemical and Biological Oxygen Demand (CBOD) of waste water may be deleterious if uncontrolled runoff is permitted in the waste water that is discharged into marine environments.


Greenhouse (GHG) – Fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production of this product result from forestry operations, transportation of wood, and wood processing and drying.

MDF is a wood residue-based composite material in which wood fibres are bonded under heat and pressure with an adhesive, a high greenhouse gas process, albeit the product is an overall carbon sink.

Re-use Efficiency – Products use a unique mounting system that does not require the use of glues or damaging screws. The panels can easily be removed and reused.

Noise – Product is efficient in the absorption of different sound frequencies. It has a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of between 0.57 to 0.88, depending on the milling, perforation and installation. See Technical Specifications.


Wood-based products can be among the most environmentally destructive material choice from a biodiversity and ecological quality point of view. This is so especially when poor, unregulated forestry practices are in place. This can lead to the loss and fragmentation of vegetation and habitat for ecological communities. Biodiversity impacts are minimised due to the regulatory and management practices in place in the forest and plantations the timber is sourced from.


Resource Efficiency

Wood is a renewable resource. The panels are made from recycled timber taken from FSC certified sources which have Chain of Custody certification, indicating that the primary resources are not sourced from rare, irreplaceable or remnant vegetative communities.

A durable melamine surface makes Echolinear easy to clean and resistant to scratch and stain.


The mounting system greatly increases the potential for reuse by eliminating the need for glues or surface damaging hardware such as screws or nails.


Small chips or scratches can be spot touched with a matching paint.  Individual panels can easily be replaced if severely damaged.

MDF is not currently recyclable due to resins. Steel mounting system is recyclable.
