PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Flotex sheet is a unique flocked floorcovering that combines the appeal and comfort of a textile floor with the practical, hygienic and durable advantages of a resilient floor. Ideal for extreme wear and high traffic areas where long-term performance is required with easy cleaning. The product is comprised of upright nylon 6.6 fibres above a glass fibre reinforced PVC backing, and can be cleaned using standard cleaning equipment. As the upright flocked fibres are firmly anchored into a waterproof backing, it’s possible to wet clean right down to the base of the sheet removing dirt, stains and allergens with ease. Suitable for allergy sensitive applications.

Forbo Flooring Systems (Ripley site) is certified with ISO 14001 Environment Management System and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems along with OHS18001 and SA8000.

More Information:

The product uses an expanding agent which contains ADCA (CAS number 123-77-3). ADCA is categorised with R42 (may cause sensitisation by inhalation) and R44 (risk of explosion if heated under confinement). It is also on the Candidate List of Substances of very high concern for Authorisation.  ADCA is used to produce foam backing via purposeful reaction. This ingredient is encapsulated with the final flooring product, so there is very rare chance that end uers will be irritated by inhalation. The risk is more likely to happen during the manufacturing process of foam backing and expanding agent itself. Forbo and its expanding agent supplier provided sufficient evidence that the occupational risks are mitigated. The products have successfully passed the relevant GreenTag Standard’s Cautionary Assessment Process and no issues of concern or red lights comments exist regarding the toxicity of the products.
