Emissions – The major raw materials used in the products by mass is mild and stainless steel. The production of steel used to make the product leads to localised emissions to terrestrial environments around production facilities. Galvanising facilities if not managed properly can lead to fugitive terrestrial emissions, but in Australia, these are highly regulated facilities with license requirements and are typically subject to an inspection regime to mitigate potential impacts. 

Physical – The extraction of iron, cadmium, chromium, molybdenum, zinc and other ores used to make mild, galvanised and stainless steel does disrupt local landscapes and alter local ecosystems, but this product promotes the use of bicycles, which improves air quality.

Emissions – The extraction of iron and other ores and the production of mild, galvanised and stainless steel have associated emissions to aquatic environments that have localised impacts around production facilities.
