Overview

 Armaflex® FRV is a high-performance, flexible elastomeric insulation material that meets the performance criteria of NFPA 274. This test simulates a fire with multiple insulated pipes in a confined vertical configuration, and more stringently assesses the fire-safety performance of pipe insulation and assemblies in terms of heat release and smoke generation.

Preparation

Armaflex® FRV is flexible and can be easily cut into various shapes and fittings, saving upon time and labor costs.  Adhesive is applied to secure the insulation onto the surface to be insulated and to secure joints in insulation.

Health

Armaflex® foam insulation is made of nitrile rubber; hence, it is safe to handle during installation and there is no risk of fibre-leakage thereafter. It is also free of formaldehyde and has low levels of volatile organic chemical (VOC) and total chemical emissions. Due to its closed-cell structure, there is an in-built water vapour barrier which helps to prevent mould growth which could have detrimental health impact.

Comfort

In addition to its efficacy as a reliable thermal insulation material, Armaflex® FRV also helps to reduce structure-borne sound transmission and provides support for acoustic insulation.

Indoor Environment Quality

Armaflex® FRV insulation material is free of fibre, formaldehyde and complies with GREENSTAR® IEQ VOC, TVOC <0.5 mg/m2/hr requirement, when tested to ASTM D5116 With an in-built vapour barrier, the insulation material also helps to prevent mould growth.

Armaflex® FRV is a fibre- and formaldehyde-free, non-irritant insulation material with low VOC and total chemical emissions. This helps to reduce potential occupational health and safety risks for installers and occupants.  As an insulation material, Armaflex® FRV also helps to provide personnel protection by controlling surface temperature to avoid contact burns (hot/cold).  It can also protect critical building elements and slow the spread of fire.
