Product Category Rules
ecospecifier will be developing and
implementing Product Category Rules (PCRs), in accordance with ISO
14025, for products wishing to achieve GreenTag LCARate 'Plus' and
GreenTag GreenRate certifications. PCRs define the
functional unit, boundary conditions and methodologies for the
development of Life Cycle Inventory and Impact Assessment.
The goal of PCRs is to create harmonization among LCA of products,
and allow comparison of environmental product declarations within
the same category.
ecospecifier would like to welcome all industry
stakeholders to take part in this process, in order to achieve
harmonious and widely accepted PCRs internationally and within the
Oceanic Region. The process involves the development of new
PCRs, adopting existing international PCRs and customizing for the
appropriate region and audience, posting drafts for public comment
on ecospecifier.org and the formation of review boards comprised of
knowledgeable LCA and Ecolabel practitioners, and other industry
stakeholders to approve PCRs.
If you wish to contribute to PCR development, submit a
PCR for adoption, join a PCR review board or nominate a member,
please reply to research1@ecospecifier.org
, providing evidence of relevant credentials and details of
organisation.
In the table bellow you will find word documents of PCRs
that are available for download and public comment, or that
have already been adopted, or that are currently under
preparation. Please send all comments to research1@ecospecifier.org
, providing personal contact information.
We will be including PCR development news in our Newsletter, if
you are not already a subscriber, click here to stay informed
