Herman Miller scoops the pool in the Australian International Design Awards
Herman Miller is delighted to announce that our two latest
products Arras™ and SAYL™ have been officially recognised by the
Australian International Design Awards.
Arras was awarded the Good Design Award because it exceeded the
five criteria for good design and met the criteria for design
excellence in the expert opinion of the judges. Head of Research
and Development for Herman Miller Asia Pacific, Marc Fong, received
the award for Arras, described as a gorgeous new take on the
workstation of the future.
SAYL received the Good Design Award and went on to be named Best
in Category, beating some heavy weight names in the field of design
including Dyson's Airblade and Air New Zealand's Skycouch.Designed
by Yves Béhar, SAYL is an affordable task chair that incorporates
everything Herman Miller is known for: innovative design, leading
ergonomics, quality engineering and environmental stewardship.
The award joins a growing list of international acknowledgements
for SAYL, following its launch in October 2010.The Australian
International Design Awards are regarded as one of the longest
standing and most prestigious design awards in the world. The
judging panel is drawn from a wide range of design related fields
and all are experts in their areas.
